The kids started school this year in Rivers. We don't move into our new house until the end of October but Grandma and Grandpa have gratiously taken us into their home and are taking very good care of us (which we can't thank them enough for). We are looking forward to the change and getting settled into our new home. Emma and Ben have settled into their new school without any problems. Emma has made lots of new friends and is very happy to go in the mornings. Ben says his favorite part is snack time and recess (no suprise there)! He is my little social butterfly, fit in the first day making friends in every grade. Hopefully the rest of the year goes as smoothly as it has started!

Ben got on Emma's bike without training wheels this weekend and off he went!!! We took off his training wheels and now we are working on the stopping without falling or jumping off. Cecil and I have been lucky as both of the kids took to it so easily without help from us. Way to go BEN!!!

We spent an evening with our friends out at their acreage and we had such a good time. We finally got to meet their new horses and the kids got to run wild with all the space. Emma says she wants a backyard like Logan's when we move to our new house, I wish! Thanks for the good times!!!

Here is a short video of Emma curling. Emma had a blast playing this winter and caught on to the sport very fast. Her coach said she's a very good curler (just like her mom:), and she is only 6 years old. She says she is going to play in the olympics!!

The Last Few Months

I can't remember the last time I had a moment to sit and Blog but thought I would quickly add a few photos from the past few months and let u know what we've been up to.
The kids are very busy this year.....Emma is curling, skating, and in gymnastics. She is just loving grade 1 and has really matured and changed over the past few months. She just started curling this year and looks to be a natural (like her mom, hehehe), her coach can't get over how fast she has picked up the game and it is pretty neat to see her come out of the hack and do a perfect delivery at her age.
Ben is keeping us busy on the weekends with his hockey. He started in the fall and couldn't even stand up in all his equipment and now is all over the ice and is really loving it. It is the cutest thing to watch, he is so small and he works so hard to just keep up with the big boys! I guess I should post a video of that!!
Stella is growing into such a fun loving little girl. She just turned 7 months (hard to believe!) and loves to smile and be with the kids. She especially loves her mommy (awww) and doesn't like to be more than a few feet away:) She refuses to take a bottle and doesn't even like baby food or real food for that matter which makes it a little difficult for me to get away. She has learned to shake her head "no" at me when I put her in her crib to sleep or if I try and give her baby food. We just love her to pieces!!!
And for me....well I've just been overwhelmed with how busy this year has been, I started taking my real estate course in the fall and find it takes up all of my spare time (what little I have) but I really do enjoy it so far and am looking forward to finishing and being able to move and be closer to my family. It will be a year filled with lots of changes and I just can't wait!! Cecil is busy picking up my slack around the house, watching kids, taking kids to activities, and he does get out and curls once a week. He will be glad when I'm done this course too!
I posted a few pictures from xmas at mom and dad's, the one picture is of all Cecil's nieces and nephews (so many we rented a hall this year for xmas), new year's with the Grindey's, Ben playing hockey and of Stella.

Olympic Torch Excitment

Of course we all know that the Olympics are in Canada this year and everyone is all hyped about it especially when the torch came through the city on the way to Vancouver. It was about -40 that night but that didn't stop us from heading out to get a glimps of the torch. The kids were very excited and after a long awaited wait we saw the flame coming down the street, got my camera ready, and realized that my battery was dying fast due to the extreme cold so I knew I had only one chance to get a good one so I go to snap the shot and my friend decides to wave her arm right in front of me so all I got was her black arm...Thanks alot GEORGE!!!...and then it was gone:( Oh well, GO CANADA GO!!!!
